Course Description:
Climate change is one of the defining issues of this century, and it affects the distribution and well-being of fish, wildlife, and forest species and ecosystems as well as economics, politics, and human health. This course provides a comprehensive overview of the science of climate change and its effects on ecosystems, organisms, and human societies. Students in this course will investigate and apply the latest scientific evidence for how climate operates on local to global scales as well as the nature of climatic changes of the past, present, and future. The course will also include thoughtful and constructive consideration of relationships of psychology and politics to science through readings, guest speakers, and class discussions. Prerequisites: Biology 101 and either General Ecology BIO 210 or Forest Ecology FOR 310 Completes General Education Requirements for: AR-I and SC-I LAS
