To be considered for Federal, State and some college Financial Aid Programs, students must complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) every year. The FAFSA may be completed as of October 1st in the year prior to the beginning of the academic year. Paul Smith’s does not have a FAFSA deadline but strongly recommends students apply early in order to maximize limited financial aid funds and no later than May 1st. Students should complete the application online at www.fafsa.gov. The 2020/2021 FAFSA looks at 2018 tax and wage information to determine a student’s Estimated Family Contribution (EFC). The EFC is used to determine financial need and federal aid eligibility. Students and/or parents that have experienced significant reductions to their income since 2018 should contact the PSC Financial Aid Office to discuss their situation.
