Course Description:

This course focuses on the drama and performance styles of Ancient Greece, Elizabethan England, and Neoclassical France and England. Students are introduced to the cultural milieu of each historical period and the theatrical conventions in force at that time, participating in a variety of psychophysical exercises designed to immerse them in that world. Each student will perform a duet scene drawn from dramatic literature written during each of the periods or styles of theatre or drama.
