Course Description:

This studio will emphasize the development of space planning and problemsolving skills related to healthcare, sports and fitness facilities. Studio experienceswill b e taught in the theory of the design process and an understanding of design research involving physical, social, and psychological factors and reflect a concern for the aesthetic qualities of the built environment. Specific in-depth emphasis will be placed on the study of design for a healthcare or recreational facility. Areas of healthcare and recreation that may be addressed in the course of study include hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, doctors' offices, freestanding emergency centers, health and fitness centers, etc.
