North East Admissions

Criteria for Admissions
In selecting a student for admission, Mercyhurst North East looks at several criteria in order to assess both the applicant’s academic background and his or her readiness for success at the college level, including reviewing the student’s previous academic records. The university entrance policy is free of discrimination on the grounds of race, creed, color, sex, or national origin.

The primary admission requirement for Mercyhurst North East is graduation from high school, or a General Educational Development (G.E.D.) Equivalency Diploma. Other criteria may include SAT or ACT scores, completion of the Accuplacer examination, and a personal interview. For those applying to one of the Allied Health Programs, a Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) may also be required. Associate degree program requirements vary. Most programs require at least a 2.5 GPA and some prerequisite coursework. On occasion, the Accuplacer requirement is waived.
