Course Description:

This course will provide an introduction to the safety, health, and welfare of employees within organizations with an emphasis on describing,organizing, applying and interpreting a variety of
basic occupations and their major impacts while linking this to abroader goals of preserving workers' health. A secondary emphasis is to examine the choices we make in our daily lives to
minimize exposures while participating in an expanding global economy. Students will learn about federal, state and county policies and regulations regarding occupational health.Students will also assess potential workplace hazards using a dataset of employees who received workers' compensation following a work related injury.
