Course Description:
HMC 315 studies and analyzes the concept that meetings and conventions are products which can be promoted and marketed. Analysis and controls of variables in the marketing mix are discussed from the perspective of the meeting planner whose responisbilites also includes the marketing of the meeting/convention. Event marketing, promotion, planning and campaigns are explored for events such as meetings, corporate events, professional conferences, community functions and sponsorship. To the extent feasible, the student will be provided opportunities for practical involvement in the planning and implementation of a promotional campaign for an event.
