JUDAISM

Course Code:
RLST 204
Course Description:

The practice of Judaism spans centuries and cultures. This course will trace the development of the religious traditions of ancient Israel and Judah into the varieties of contemporary lived Judaism. We will see that the traditions that make up Judaism, like those that make up Christianity and Islam, were heterogeneous from the very beginning. We will examine the variety of Jewish
scriptural interpretive traditions, religious experiences, rituals, worship practices, cultures, and movements. Judaism is a vibrant religious tradition filled with a multiplicity of voices.
