Course Description:

This course examines and explores the etiology, diagnosis, and treatment of psychopathology in children and adolescents. Content includes coverage of a variety of psychological disorders, such as anxiety disorders, mood disorders, autism spectrum disorders, language/learning disabilities, mental retardation, and asthama and diabetes. Focus on the developmental psychopathology perspective, which endorses that abnormal development occurs along dynamic pathways, with links to both the past and future. An exporation of the social and cultural contexts in which children experience life is also examined.
