Pre-College Programshouses several programs that support and enhance the academic, cultural, and educational achievements of students from Paterson and Passaic public school districts. Each of the programs serves a distinct population within the Passaic County community.
TheCollege Bound/GEAR UP Program serves 7th through 12th grade students who attend target schools in Paterson Public School District and desire to go to college to pursue science, mathematics, and/or technology as a career. The New Jersey Office of the Secretary of Higher Education, the U.S. Department of Education, and Passaic County Community College funds this program.
The Upward Bound Program serves first-generation,9th- through12th-grade students attending Passaic High School. The program’s mission is to preparefirst generation students for entry into post-secondary education. The U. S. Department of Education and Passaic County Community College funds this program.
The PCCC GEAR UP program serves Paterson Public School’s JFK STEM Academy Class of 2024. The program follows students from 7thgrade to throughtheir first year of college with academic support and college and STEM career exposure.The U. S. Department of Education and Passaic County Community College funds this program.
