Course Description:

Forest Management provides practical training in of model building and formal decision analysis in the context of forestry systems. This course develops these skills with reference to three broad topic areas: (1) timberland valuation and investment analysis; (2) harvest scheduling and operational management; (3) forest-level regulation and planning, including for the production of non-timber goods and services. This course puts particular emphasis on the silvicultural dimensions of each of these topics.  Prerequisites: FOR 280 Woodlot Management and FOR 365 Forest Economics & Finance.
