Course Description:

This course prepares new BEFO graduates to operate as Interior Structural firefighters or in Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health ( IDLH ) areas of a fire scene. This course is designed for BEFO course graduates ready to perform interior structural and IDLH firefighting operations. If students are enrolled in the Firefighter I course sequence (BEFO or IFO) at the same time as they are enrolled in their program courses at Paul Smith’s, they may use the credit hours towards their full-time enrollment. They may also transfer the credits (2) within the timeframe of the certification. This is an external course with completion audited by the DMRS Program Coordinator or transfer credits awarded by the registrar. Pass/Fail grade.
