The increased frequency and severity of major disasters such as droughts, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, and earthquakes are global phenomena. These extreme weather events impacted approximately 60 million people and caused nearly 11,000 fatalities in 2018.

Equip yourself with the necessary skills and knowledge to address a worldwide challenge. This four-year degree path includes an opportunity to focus on work by choosing an Analysis and Planning and Response Practitioner concentration.

  • Aligns with the United Nation’s globally-endorsed Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030. This framework emphasizes a proactive approach to managing risk reduction, sustainable development and public safety.
  • Offers broad the scope of professional opportunities for graduates, including resource management, economic and social impact assessment, policymaking, and community development.
  • Includes practical training in Incident Command System and National Incident Management System, used worldwide for rapid collaboration among first responders, government and non-government agencies, citizens, and the private sector for emergency response.
