Course Description:
This course introduces students to the biodiversity and natural history of vertebrates that live in North America. The focus will be on fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals with an emphasis on vertebrates that live in the eastern United States. Students will be able to identify vertebrates as well as demonstrate an understanding of vertebrate anatomy, physiology, behavior, reproduction, life history and ecology. (3 hours lecture). Prerequisites: BIO 101 Biology I and BIO 102 Biology II Completes General Education Requirements:LAS, AR-R.
