Course Description:
This course examines the structure and function of aquatic ecosystems with specific focus on the physical, chemical, and biological processes of lakes. Themes related to human impact on aquatic systems and watershed level approaches to limnology are common threads throughout the course. The laboratory is designed to provide students with the knowledge and ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and disseminate limnological data. (3 hours of lecture, 3 hours of lab). Prerequisites: BIO 101 Biology I and BIO 102 Biology II and CHM 141 Chemistry I. Completes General Education Requirements:QP-I, AR-I, LAS.
