Course Description:
Animal Behavior is an integral course for anyone wishing to understand animal biology or ecology. Students will explore the basis (genetics to environmental) for animal behavior and be able to describe, quantify, and analyze animal behavior. Students will use Tinbergen's four why questions (development, causation, function and evolution) to explain animal behaviors such as foraging, reproductive, social and parental behaviors. Students should have a good understanding of experimental design and statistical analysis before taking Animal Behavior. (3 hour lecture) Prerequisites: BIO 101 Biology I and BIO 102 Biology II and MAT 210 Statistics Completes General Education Requirements: WC-I, AR-I. LAS
