Course Description:
Intermediate Spanish II will increasingly emphasize oral comprehension and expression with classes conducted almost entirely in Spanish. Class discussion and reading will be centered on a selection of short literary readings from a variety of well-known Spanish authors. Selected review of key grammatical differences between Spanish and English will occur in the context of the study of Spanish literature. Also, the class will study lexical options in context (i.e., denotational vs. connotational, colloquial and dialectical, the dangers of false cognates, etc.). (3 hours lecture). Prerequisite: LAN 201 Intermediate Spanish I
