Organizational Leadership (certificate)
The Graduate Certificate in Organizational Leadership is designed to provide a theoretical and practical framework for professionals who currently hold leadership positions or are aspiring to leadership roles in organizations. The certificate program views leadership as a process and as such will emphasize practical application while addressing leadership needs in both for profit and nonprofit organizations, especially social service, business, government, education and manufacturing. Successful leadership is a process that takes time, experience, learning and a behavioral disposition toward working with others. This course examines the field of organizational behavior and leadership by studying theoretical models, practical examples, and experiential exercises.
Organizational leadership cannot exist independent of communication. In this course special emphasis is placed on strengthening the ties between theories of communication and understanding the practical application and importance of communication strategies in organizations.
