Course Description:
The main focus of this course is discussion and case studies of special populations in the physically active. Populations will include but are not limited to: pediatrics, geriatrics, pregnant women, diabetics, asthmatics, and disabled. Discussion will be in the areas of injury and illness management, activity restrictions, and NATA position statements related to special populations. There is also a clinical component to this course in which the student is to complete a required number of hours with an assigned clinical experience. Prerequisites: AT majors only. ~A HELM Course~ 3 credits.
