Associate in Science Degree

Program Outcomes:

Graduates of the Program will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the inter-relatedness of the Earth’s natural resources with our survival and sustainability.
  • Describe and understand the origin of the solar system and Earth? the evolution of the solid Earth, hydrosphere and atmosphere,  plate tectonics? climate change? biological evolution? and geochronology.  Demonstrate mastery of the approach and rationale of the scientific method and be able to apply these principles to solve problems.
  • Perform laboratory techniques in a safe and accurate manner.
  • Utilize mathematical/computer modeling to predict outcomes or behaviors of geological systems.
