Academic Honors

  • Dean’s List**  - Students who earn 12 or more college credits and who achieve a semester grade point average (GPA) of 3.25 or higher with no grade below a “C” will be eligible for Dean’s List. Dean’s List is awarded at the end of the Fall and Spring semesters for those students who earn 12 or more college credits for the semester.
  • Part-time students who earn 12 or more college credits with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher with no grade below a "C" between September 1 of one year and August 31 of the following year, and who were not enrolled full-time in either the Fall or Spring semesters, will be eligible for part-time Dean’s List which is awarded annually in August.
     
  • Dean’s Letter of Commendation** -  Students who earn 12 or more credit equivalents, or a combination of  college credit and credit equivalents, and who achieve a semester grade point average of 3.25 or higher with no grade below a “C” will be eligible for a Dean’s Letter of Commendation.  A Dean’s Letter of Commendation will be awarded at the end of the Fall and Spring semesters for those students who earn 12 or more college credits/credit equivalents for the semester. 
  • Part-time students who earn 12 or more college credits/credit equivalents with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher with no grade below a "C" between September 1 of one year and August 31 of the following year, and who were not enrolled full-time in either the Fall or Spring semesters, will be eligible for part-time Dean’s Letter of Commendation which is awarded annually in August.  

    **The grade of “I” / "QI" (Incomplete) will disqualify students for an evaluation period. When the “I” / "QI" grade is changed, students will be reevaluated for dean’s honors.
  • Honors at Graduation Students graduating with cumulative grade point averages of 3.25 or higher in course work completed at Middlesex College are recognized at Commencement as honor students with the following designations.  The honors designation also appears on the diploma and is notated on the official academic transcript.

3.25–3.39           Honors
3.40–3.69           High Honors
3.70–4.00           Highest Honors
