This course centers on creative writing in two genres: Fiction and Creative Non-Fiction. The course emphasizes the student's writing in prose forms to concentrate on character, plot, diction, and point of view. Student peers and the instructor assess both in-class and long-term writing projects in class workshops. Students analyze contemporary examples of fiction and creative non-fiction (essay, memoir, journaling) as examples of techniques, structure and publishing trends.
