Course Description:
MAT-070 is an accelerated course that provides intensive, differentiated instruction for students that need to develop a selected skill set in Elementary Algebra. The Elementary Algebra topics include: integer, rational, and irrational numbers; techniques of graphing and solving linear equations; polynomials and their operations; special products and factoring; rational expressions; radical expressions; quadratic equations and methods of solutions. Applications of linear and quadratic equations are included, as well. A grade of \"C\" is the minimum acceptable grade for advancement from this developmental level, MAT-070, to the level of Algebra II, MAT-014, or to MAT-101 or MAT-107.

Prerequisites:

Students with an ACCUPLACER ALGEBRA score of 56-75 or an ACCUPLACER ARITHMETIC score of 73 or higher are eligible for the Algebra I Bridge, MAT-070.
