Middlesex County College and Rutgers University have a cross-town agreement that allows qualified Middlesex County College students to enroll in the Rutgers University Air Force or Army ROTC programs.

Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC)

Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) is the largest and oldest source of commissioned officers for the United States Air Force.  It is a voluntary program of military education and leadership development open to qualified male and female students of all academic majors.  The program is designed to recruit, educate, and commission officer candidates through college campus programs based on Air Force requirements. 

AFROTC courses focus on leadership and prepare students for duties and responsibilities as officers in the active duty United States Air Force.  Active duty Air Force officers teach weekly Aerospace Studies and leadership courses at Rutgers University.  Additionally, cadets participate in a weekly leadership laboratory where special emphasis is placed on enhancing leadership and management skills. 

First and second year Middlesex students may enroll in the Air Force ROTC program via a cross-town school agreement with Rutgers UniversityTravel between campuses is required at least once per week.  Prospective Middlesex students should contact the Air Force ROTC Detachment 485 Admissions Officer at (848) 932-7706 for more information.

Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (AROTC)

The Rutgers University Army ROTC program provides students the opportunity to study and train for careers in the U.S. Army, Army National Guard, and the Army Reserve.  Prospective Middlesex County College students should contact the Army ROTC Scarlet Knight Detachment at  848-932-3217.
