Course Description : An overview of the fundamental principles of the physical and biological sciences as they relate to the field of forensic science. This course focuses on the role of the forensic scientist in criminal investigations. Scientific principles of crime scene investigation, including the chemistry of blood, physics of blood splatter, DNA and firearms identification will be covered. Laboratory analysis will include microscopy, atomic absorption and chromatography.

Prerequisites:

MAT-013 or appropriate score on the College placement test and one year of high school laboratory science. Students should not register for both SCI-206 and SCI-220.
