Journalism/Writing Field Experience

Course Code: ENG-214

Course Description : A cooperative work experience through which students are employed in a professional writing or journalism position to gain the practical experience necessary for success in the field. Supervision of this departmentally approved position is provided by the College through the instructor's on-the-job visits and individual progress reviews. Students are required to describe their objectives and attain specific job skills. They attend a bi-weekly two-hour seminar on campus and work a minimum of 180 hours during the semester.

Prerequisites:

BUS 205 or ENG 205 or ENG-235 plus written permission of the department chairperson and Career and Transfer Services located on the 2nd Floor of West Hall.
